Short Term Home-hosted Accommodation - Sunshine Cove - Maroochydore Qld
We invite you to wake up to the beautiful dawns that bring our lakeside setting to life, and then watch the spectacular sunsets to close the day.
Sunshine Cove - Truly a Beautiful Place
Our home sits on the edge of the beautiful Sunshine Cove lake. Many of our guests will enjoy walking along the board walk (to which we have our own private gate) and other lake-side promenades, along with the extensive network of level paths through parks and varied neighbourhoods.
While the lake is not suitable for swimming or powered craft, it is ideal for kayaking, remote-controlled model boats and fishing - all of which are accessible almost on our door step, or from the adjacent launching pontoon. You might even enjoy canoeing around the lake, over the weir into Cornmeal Creek, through and under the Sunshine Plaza shopping mall, and on to the Maroochy river delta to explore its many tributaries and islands, and even on to the beaches and the open sea at Cotton Tree (does Chile beckon?).
A bicycle would also be a great way to explore nearby areas and amenities.
So Much - So Close
Spoilt for Choice!
A matter of only 5 minutes flat walk away is an extensive air conditioned Home Centre, with numerous large retailers and a couple of coffee shops serving light food. An Aldi supermarket is only 200m away offering ready-to-eat picnic supplies, as too does the Deli in the nearby Kon Tiki building. Coles, Woolworths and IGA supermarkets may be your alternative nearby preference.
A further few minutes easy walk leads you to an extensive range of retail / commercial businesses in Maroochydore and the expanding Sunshine Plaza Shopping Mall, with multiplex cinemas, and the Ocean Street entertainment / restaurant precinct.
On the Eastern edge of the Sunshine Plaza Shopping Mall you come to the Maroochydore Public (Bus) Transit Station, with bus connections throughout the Sunshine Coast, and connections to Nambour railway station and the regular (nearly hourly) passenger rail service to Brisbane. The Greyhound Bus Stop (Cairns - Brisbane) is not far away also.
The nearby golden sand beaches include Cotton Tree (protected on the river-side), and a long sweeping surf beach (overseen by three Surf Clubs) runs south to Mooloolaba, which itself also offers great evening eateries, being a 10 minute drive away.
If you have a car, talk with your hosts about the many and varied opportunities to explore the sights and experiences of the Sunshine Coast - with most attractions and places of interest less than about 30 minutes drive away. The Glass House Mountains or Mount Coolum might appeal, or Australia Zoo or Sea Life Sunshine Coast; maybe the Eumundi Markets or Noosa, the Kondalilla Falls or Montville or Caloundra - in all directions, and whatever your interest, we will be able to direct you to something and somewhere that will add to your happy life experiences and possibly fill your camera's memory card.
The important thing to remember about the Sunshine Coast is that it is LAID BACK, relaxed and easy to get around. There aren't even parking meters in most locations! Come and enjoy.
